The Road To The Moon

Ten kilometres outside La Paz lies the valley of the moon. That was an enticing prospect and so I decided to visit. I had only been three days in the containment of La Paz. I had been absorbed by the city and the people and the mystery of the very different life unfolding around me. I did not realise how closed I had become within the bowl of the mountains in which La Paz sits until I began my journey to the moon.

Not only was the beauty of the plain immense the villages on the way to the moon were discoveries in themselves as were the people who lived within them.

Life in the pueblito so much more charming than life in La Paz. The people so much more relaxed and open and curious about strangers such as myself. Juan and Eddy wanted to know what I was doing there, were very anxious indeed I did not miss the church. Eddy pointing it out with his walking stick. They were delightful and contented and happy to be sitting as they were outside the village shop. Their happiness only increasing every time I took a photograph of them and showed it to them , allowing them to compete between themselves as to who was the most handsome.

Because Eddy will be happy that the world knows about the beauty of his church, here it is.
